Injury Rehabilitation

Injury Rehabilitation. Our aim is not only to get you out of pain, but return you to full function. In keeping with the latest research we take a holistic view of the body as so often where you feel the pain is not where the problem lies. Manipulation might indeed buy you a short term window where you are pain free, but rarely does it solve the underlying issue. Long term pain relief and injury prevention is about treatment, correct exercise programming and lifestyle education creating a ‘toolbox’ of skills to manage and overcome your injury.

Physiotherapy is for anyone with a musculoskeletal injury. This can include but is not limited to those with back pain, post injury rehabilitation, chronic pain. For those with post surgery rehabilitative needs, such as hip and knee replacement patients, physiotherapy and prescriptive exercise can aid to speed recovery. As well as private clients Luke also accepts referrals from most major insurance companies, referrals from other gyms and clubs in Hereford in addition to referrals from surgeons and private clinincs in the region. Many patients find rehabilitation a difficult process due to the restrictions on certain activities during that time and also the pace of the healing process. However, it’s always our intention to get you back to full activity as quick as possible while not risking a relapse.

The foot is an engineering masterpiece and we tend to take this for granted until something goes wrong, or we develop pain. Stresses in the foot and surrounding soft tissues can create symptoms in the foot and ankle, but also problems in lower limbs, knees, hips and back. We’ve teamed up with the local expert in Musculo-Skeletal Podiatry to give our members and guests the very best advice on offer. Our expert in all things related to foot and lower limb disorders is Daryl Stickings. Daryl studied Biomechanics at The University of Leeds and Podiatric Medicine at the University of Salford . He has been working with the local Wye Valley NHS and Gloucestershire Care Services in Podiatric Surgery for 4 years. Daryl is currently clinical lead for Extended Scope Musculo-Skeletal (MSK) Podiatry in the region.

Many of us have small intrinsic abnormalities, these may make us prone to foot and lower limb problems that can ultimately cause injury and stop us enjoying our sport and leisure.
