
“I have been going to gyms on and off for several years, although I could never say I was particularly happy with the outcomes, possibly because I never felt I had any real programme or leadership.⠀

However, a couple of years ago I had a major heart operation and felt I needed to have proper coaching. I didn’t want to push myself too hard and cause problems, but also didn’t want to be too cautious and not make any real progress.⠀

Working with (coach) Sophia I quickly realised it was not simply basic fitness that I was lacking, but other things like balance and mobility, which had been restricting my development.⠀

I felt it was slow progress at first because of my various health issues but everyone was very patient and worked hard to keep things fresh and move things on. It was a bit of a blow when the gym shut with the first lockdown – my house had also been flooded, so I was living out of two bedrooms. Life was not too much fun! And, I was really concerned any progress I had made would stop.⠀

Then, the online sessions started with James and I was able to continue the progress I had started to make. It has really worked well for me.⠀

I thought the online sessions would probably be helpful in maintaining the level of fitness I had reached, but I am really happy to see a continued increase in my fitness and now feel I’m making some real progress.⠀
