‘In 2013, when Simon was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes and peripheral artery disease and I had very high blood pressure, we both had to stop and take stock of where we were in life. We were advised to stop smoking, improve our exercise and lose weight. It was then we realised over the last 30 years we had become pretty inactive and developed some poor eating habits. It was time to make changes.
We joined Ady Watts Gym in 2019, after many years of trying different forms of exercise and have benefitted no end from their awesome approach to fitness. The coaches are very knowledgeable and encouraging, and we particularly like the way they support you around any injuries so that you can continue to train. They also have the brilliant ability to push you when needed or hold you back when you may want to go too fast.
Of special note is the support we had from Ady and the team through Covid lock-downs. IT was hugely valuable.
We get help and advice on wellbeing and nutrition in our monthly review, which helps us to stay motivated and keep on track with our goals. There is a great feeling of community and we all inspire and support each other.
Both Simon and I have found our body strength has improved and we feel stronger and healthier, allowing us to enjoy long walks and activities with the grandchildren.’
