A lady stood in a gardenJust over two years ago I was diagnosed with an auto immune disease called Dermatomyositis, which mainly affected my muscles. I had got to a point where I was finding my illness was taking over my life and what I perceived were my physical capabilities.

It was at this point that I decided to get some professional advice and start exercising. Within days I had my first personal training session and the progress since has been amazing!

Initially I attended on a weekly one to one basis, with an exercise programme to continue at home. I now have personal training twice a month, and attend the gym as much as I am able to – normally 2-3 times per week. The exercise programs are designed specifically for your personal needs, in my case regaining strength in my arms, but especially my legs.

I now find I have much more energy and really enjoy my gym sessions – unheard of before! Without the help and support, it would have been hard for me to find the motivation myself to try and do some form of exercise. The emphasis here is clearly on what you CAN do and not what you CANNOT do!
