“It seems to me things start to fall apart in your fifties… whether it’s your eyesight, general aches and pains… the menopause, early onset arthritis and so on… it’s all a bit of a challenge. In particular my knees were painful – and so gradually I moved less… with inevitable results.
 
I then had to have half my lung removed… and so it became crystal clear that I really did need to build back some strength and resilience to be able to enjoy every day life. I’ve been going to Ady Watts since September and I’ve found it really beneficial. You can go at your own pace and there’s a monthly review to check over progress so that you know where you are.
 
 
Thanks to the team at Ady Watts I have gone from a very low level of fitness to much improved, I’ve gained muscle and lost weight (and fat). It turns out that building the muscles around your knees can really help osteoarthritis and so now I have virtually no inflammation, – and no pain.
 
The best thing about this particular gym is the amount of small group classes, – and the flexibility. There are several different class times each day so if your life is hectic you can slot them in to suit. If you can’t go into the gym you can do them online at home, – or wherever you are. Flexibility with accountability – it works really well for me, and has really helped offset the challenges as well”

Gym
