It’s been great working with Mark – helping him learning to manage his back while having a busy work & family schedule.
Here’s Mark’s story…
“Over 2 years ago I prolapsed a disk in my lower back. It has been a long struggle since with little improvement from physio and leaving me week on week going through good and bad periods managing the sciatic pain. I have to keep in shape for my role as a firefighter (and Dad!) and found I was in a cycle of training and subsequent periods of pain. I had got to a point of either putting up with the pain or opting for surgery.
I decided to give Ady Watts a try as a last chance option and I have now been attending since Nov. Ady and the crew have since transformed how I train and equally important my mindset to training.
I have been so impressed with the whole teams approach, knowledge, enthusiasm and empathy towards helping me. They treat everyone as an individual and tailor training on that basis. Even when you attend group training sessions you are still closely supervised and coached throughout which is superb. What I also like is that it’s not just your physical state they consider but also your mental well-being. As I’ve learned everything affects our ability to train and not just how tired we are.
Although it’s still early days I have experienced more frequent periods of being pain free and the confidence to manage periods where the pain flares up and reduce and manage it. Additionally I have seen great improvements in my strength and fitness in this period.
As someone who trained out of necessity rather than enjoyment I can honestly say I want to turn up and train every session.”
